Our Covid-19 Paliatives

The COVID-19 palliatives distribution in Udi L. G. A. was a humanitarian rather than a political gesture.
The administration of a magnanimous Executive Chairman, a humanist Par excellence, a perfect gentleman, started at the height of the COVID-19 lockdown. The amiable Chairman set up a COVID-19 Relief Fund Steering Committee charged with the responsibility of alleviating the harsh effects of the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic on Udi sons, daughters and residents, through the distribution of palliatives.
The committee received donations from well meaning stakeholders of our L. G. A. Our Mayor took the lead with a very handsome donation. This ingenious compassion of the exemplary humanist Hon. Ifeanyi Pascal Agu, provided bags of richly packaged palliatives ranging from 1 painter of rice, noodles, ½ painter of crayfish, 1 painter of beans, onions, tubers of yam, tomatoes, salt to even household items like soap, hand sanitizers, disinfectants and face masks in each bag, across the 38 communities of Udi L. G. A.
Interestingly these 38 communities went beyond politics because the Chairman emphasized he was interested in reaching his people beyond 20 political wards regardless of Party inclination, tribe or religion.
The Udi L. G. A. COVID-19 palliatives committee reached 80 households in each of the 38 communities, several Udi and non Udi people with special needs and Udi L. G. A. non-indigene population, including the Hausa-Fulani community totalling over 4,200 households. This process continued in Udi L. G. A through five respective phases in five months, Udi L. G. A. has taken palliatives to over 22,000 households in Udi.
These palliatives came from different sources with the first to third phases coming from Udi L. G. A. Mayor Hon. Pascal Ifeanyi Agu and our well meaning philanthropic stakeholders, through the instrumentality of Udi L. G. A. COVID-19 Relief Fund Steering Committee. The later phases came from the Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) and the Enugu State Government.

Udi Local Government Area is in the hands of God because Hon. Ifeanyi Pascal Agu believes in the ideals of our kind, peace loving Governor, Rt Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu) and models after him, like a son after a Father.
Thank you.
